Charity ride to help bring some cheer to the homeless

10th December 2007

In a move by several charitable minded cyclists, a charity ride will be held from Frankston to St Kilda to donate food to the Sacred Heart Mission on Saturday the 22nd of December 2007.

Leaving from the Frankston Visitors Centre at 8.30am, the group ride will be run at a slow and gentle pace, arriving in St Kilda at 11am where all riders will empty the contents of their food filled backpacks.

Although this ride is a last minute concept for 2007, it is hoped that the ride will grow and become a regular event, drawing hundreds of Melbourne’s cyclists out to bring some cheer to the disadvantaged, while also enjoying a friendly, fun filed ride along the popular Beach Rd cycling route.

With its timing so close to Christmas, all riders are encouraged to dress up in a festive spirit, with the ride will be led by Santa and his nine reindeers, all on bikes.

More news and information will be available shortly via the soon to be completed Sacred Heart Mission Community Cycle website.
