Ride etiquette
As the ride is about fun and celebration of Christmas, the pace will be kept
slow and gentle, with plenty of time to chat and wave to the kids along the way.
The ride will be ridden 2-up and any breaks in the group will be encouraged to
regroup. THIS IS NOT A RACE, its about fun!
As some new riders will also be joining in on the ride and meeting up along
the road, please take care and help introduce any newbies on how a group ride
is run.
Dress ups
All riders are encouraged to dress with a Christmas spirit. Leading the ride
will be Santa and his nine reindeers with the rest of the group following. So
wrap your bike in tinsel, or dress as an elf, snowman, what ever. Lets make it
a fun ride! Even better- several prizes will be given away at the end for
the best dressed, so make sure you hang about at the end!
AGGHHH... HILLS!
Some of the newer riders will be of course worried about the hills. Well fear
not! The route is mostly flat with only a few km's of small rolling hills
around Beaumaris to get the legs working. View the elevation map below to get
an indication of what to expect (relax- they ARE small and the pace will be slow).

40km too far?
If 40 km's sounds too far for you to ride or you are short of time, feel free
to join up with the group anywhere along the route (see map above). Just wait
for the group to roll past (you won't miss us- look for Santa and his reindeers)
and jump onto the back of the group.
Getting to Frankston
Many riders will be riding down to Frankston before the ride while others
will be catching the train down. If you are planning to catch a train down to
Frankston for the start, please note that the last two trains to make it into
Frankston for the 8.30am start are as follows-
